Lululemon Yoga Pants

The popular Lululemon yoga pants had to be pulled from store shelves and online after finding out the fabric being used was too sheer.

Lululemon Athletica Inc. said on its website that it first began to understand the see-through problem on March 11 as part of its weekly call with store managers, who voiced worries about sheerness to they yoga pants.

The company stated, “Over the past weekend we pulled all of the affected black Luon women’s bottoms from our stores, showrooms and e-commerce site and are working with our supplier to replace the fabric and our other manufacturers to replace these key items as quickly as possible. We believe the affected items represented approximately 17% of all women’s bottoms in our stores and for the near term there will be a shortage of these styles available to our guests.”

Lululemon CEO Christine Day said in the press release, “We regret any inconvenience this has caused for our guests. It is always our first priority to protect the quality of our fabrics that keep our guest so loyal to our products. We will accept nothing less than the very highest quality we are known for.”

The company is offering customers’ full refunds or exchanges if you have bought the affected product. Anyone who purchased black Luon pants after March 1st, either online or in stores, can contact the Guest Education Center at 1-877-263-9300 with questions as to how to return items purchased through our e-commerce site.

Lululemon recently reported problems with another set of their light colored yoga pants. They had to sell the high-end yoga pants with a disclaimer: “You may experience sheerness with some of our bright-colored bottoms because of the lightweight nature of the fabric. We recommend you do a couple of Down Dogs in your bright-colored bottoms to ensure you’re happy with the fit and coverage.”

Lululemon has created a cult for yoga and workout clothing for those who are looking for comfort and a breathable style. Starting at a price of $72 for cropped, chafe-resistant Wunder Unders and top out at $118 for a baggier, breathable Studio style.

Lululemon’s stock price dropped more than 5 percent in trading Tuesday to $62.60. Lululemon has now cut their first-quarter revenue from an earlier estimate of $350 million to $355 million to now an anticipated revenue between $333 million and $343 million.
