Sega Games has just posted a Twitter update for the previously announced Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD. Adding to the details already revealed in the last few days, are the game’s updated play modes and game visuals.
The two new modes — Time Attack mode and Decathlon mode — are introduced briefly by the post and via the games official website. Each mode was shown with their teaser screenshots and short descriptions.
Time Attack mode is pretty straightforward. Players vie for the top spot with the fastest run possible on a selected stage, and perhaps also with a vehicle or ball of their choosing, based on the available screenshots.
Decathlon mode will be the party game setting, introducing ten different mini-games that allow players to compete with each other for the objective provided. There is only one screenshot of the Decathlon mode available at the moment, so still not enough information for the rest of the other mini-games.
As for the main game, the one where you roll through stages primarily as AiAi will have a total of one hundred (100) stages as confirmed by earlier official Twitter posts.
Another earlier confirmed information that is now shown at the game’s official website is the lone screenshot of the character select screen. Pretty much the entire main roster is there (AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, GonGon, YanYan, and Doctor), save for a few obvious ones, who are usually at the other side of the conflict.
The original game, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, was developed previously for the Nintendo Wii and was officially released in 2006. It was one of the pioneering games that helped popularize the console’s motion control features, as it was the primary method of control for the player.
The remastered version was announced last week, with specific details such as menus and modes provided periodically as the days progressed.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD is slated for official release this coming October 31st for the PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
