A lot of us are victims of April Fool’s Day, but some of us are also the masterminds of those pranks. It is either you are the victim or the person to blame for the joke; you are welcoming April Fool’s Day with a blast.
April Fool’s Day does not exempt celebrities in being a victim or giving a prank. Actually, they are one of the many who offers the best prank, especially in social media. One of them is Justin Bieber who posted in his Instagram account an ultrasound photo with no caption. This post of Justin Bieber made the social media people appalled and excited. But his wife, Hailey Baldwin commented on the photo, “Very funny…”
So is it not obvious that the post of his husband is just a prank? Hmmm… We never know as Justin Bieber posted another photo of his wife surrounded with medical staff holding her tummy with a caption “If you thought it was April Fools..”! So how do you think people will react to that?! Well, it seems like Justin Bieber caught us off guard with the second photo. But on his third post of another ultrasound photo, this time with an edited puppy on it and a caption “Wait omg is that a
But it seems like not everyone finds his post funny as some netizens gave adverse reactions to his Instagram posts about pregnancy. Apparently, a couple of them posted tweets against Justin Beiber’s prank. One of the posts on Twitter says,
“Justin Bieber faked a pregnancy announcement… Why?! That is so inconsiderate. People struggle with loss and infertility every single day. Pregnancy announcements are not a joke. Give your damn head a shake…”
Another post says,
“Of course Justin Bieber will think a pregnancy announcement would be funny on April fools. Esp so when 1 in 7 women have had a miscarriage. Not to mention those suffering from infertility.”
With his April Fool’s joke, a lot of people, especially women reacted negatively as according to them, pregnancy or being a pregnant issue is not a joke. There are a lot of women are having a hard time to conceive, or if not, cannot conceive at all. And this kind of a joke for them is not funny. It breaks the heart of the women, even men.
This issue has already been raised before Justin Beiber made one. Using pregnancy as a prank on April Fool’s Day or on any occasion is not lovely. It only shows that the ones who are using pregnancy as their prank are insensitive to the feelings of others. A post on Twitter showed that 1 in 4 women miscarry. 1 in 8 couples experience infertility, and 1 in 160 pregnancies end in stillbirth.
But it is not only Justin Bieber who held criticism about his post. On Monday, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Brandi Glanville also posted on Instagram a prank about her being pregnant.
“5 weeks now third times a charm… and y’all thought all of my eggs were scrambled,”
But the Instagram post has long been deleted and has yet to be deleted in Twitter. After posting that joke, Brandi posted on Twitter stating, “I deleted my April fools joke on IG BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE TO F— SENSITIVE & I don’t feel like fighting today.”
Even before Justin Bieber and Brandi Glanville’s posts, another celebrity also posted about pregnancy joke last year like Arie Luyendyk Jr., and Lauren Burnham who found themselves posting a public apology after joking that they will be expecting a baby.
Well, this may serve as a lesson to everyone who is fond of fooling around during April Fool’s Day. We may think that it will be fun, but we cannot please everyone and avoid that we will hurt someone’s feelings because of our prank. But nevertheless, all is well that ends well, guys. April 1 is meant for a one day fun!
