If you think Dragon Ball Super will slow down after its successful action movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, you’re wrong. The epic saga is rumored to make a summer 2019 comeback with Naohiro Shintani taking full responsibility of the series’ character design. Excited? We are too!

Toei Animation is yet to confirm the said rumor, but the tip came from Geekdom101 after his source relayed that the Dragon Ball Super franchise is boiling something that will surprise its global fans. As of the moment, one thing that we know so far is that the man responsible for the fantastic character animation in the latest hit movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Naohiro Shintani, will take over the character design for the rumored installment of DBS. Hence, we’ll see more of that knock off animation.

According to Geekdom101, the new Dragon Ball Super series has been in the works for quite some time now, dating the start of the revival back last fall. However, this is not the first time the franchise rumored for a comeback. Remember that international marketing event earlier this year? The exhibition opened speculation that the new DBS installment is indeed on the works, and that Toei Animation is pursuing the new episodes of Dragon Ball Super. However, the studio was quick to shut down the report, inevitably leaving us guessing.

Undoubtedly, the news delighted most of the DBS community. Over Twitter, fans can’t contain their excitement. People are posting GIFs, posters, and fan arts, all intended to express exhilaration over the upcoming new episodes.

Starts With The Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc

With regards to its possible timeline, the upcoming series is said to follow its manga. Hence, there’s a huge implication that the new series will start things off with Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, introducing the new villain, the Planet-Eater Moro. Nonetheless, it’s the next saga in the Dragon Ball Super manga.

To give you snippets, the Planet-Eater Moro is a powerful ancient fighter and sorcerer. He can drain the life force of every planet to feed his strength and magic. Based on the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc, 10 million years ago, the Galactic Patrol enprisoned Moro with the help of Universe 7’s ruler, Daikaoh. He succeeded in sealing the sorcerer away, though it cost him to lose all of his godly energy. By the time of Dragon Ball Z, Daikaoh wasn’t able to survive the attacks of the likes of Buu, sacrificing himself and use his godly powers to balance the villain and created Fat Buu.

Due to this, Moro is free once again, and the Galactic Patrol took along Majin Buu in hopes of sealing the fighter/sorcerer again. However, it seems Daikaoh has lost all his godly energy to defeat Moro, leaving Goku and Vegeta to stop this evil madness once again.

Announcement Schedule

Toei Animation is yet to confirm the schedule or the official announcement of the upcoming anime. However, speculation revealed that the new installment of Dragon Ball Super would most likely be announced on April, making July as the possible release month.

I talked to my good friend @KenXyro (one of our go-to guys for Dragon Ball Super news) if there’s any tip when the anime will become available. Without a doubt, he said that the expected date is July 7, according to his source.

“It’s just what’s likely going by talks [or] going on internally.”

However, it is still best to take every information with a grain of salt. One thing is for sure; Dragon Ball Super is back for an epic comeback. July looks good to me, and I can’t wait to relive the DBS actions once again!

**We will be updating this post for new updates on Dragon Ball Super. Stay tuned!
