Pop star Jennifer Lopez, or J-Lo, said yes to Alex Rodriguez, or A-Rod’s marriage proposal and announced through their Instagram accounts Saturday.
A-Rod popped the question while on a couple’s vacation at the Bahamas, and J-Lo said yes! Other than the cozy romance, the couple has been brewing for two years now, and who wouldn’t say no to that ring?
A-Rod captioned his Instagram photo with “she said yes” with a black heart emoji, while J-Lo posted the same picture with eight black heart emojis. The news comes after the couple celebrated their 2nd anniversary last February 3.
Celebrities like Kris Jenner, DJ Khaled, Rita Ora, Khloe Kardashian, Ellen Pompeo, Ashley Graham and more, all offered their congratulations. Ellen De Generes commented on the post with “Yes. I’ll be your Maid of Honor.”
The Instagram post is a photo of A-Rod holding J-Lo’s hand with the sunset over the Atlantic, but the star was the emerald-cut diamond ring that A-rod proposed with.
Ira Weissman, the founder of The Diamond Pro, explained, “This approximately 20-carat emerald cut diamond is exquisitely cut and of superb quality. When you have an extremely rare and timelessly breathtaking stone such as this one, the goal of the ring should be to show off the rock naturally with as little embellishment as possible – the perfect compliment to the ageless enduring beauty of J.Lo. The ring is worth approximately 5 million dollars.”
Jennifer Lopez, 49, is a singer, dancer, and actress who stars in “Selena,” and ‘The Second Act,” to name a few, is also the current executive producer of the World of Dance, which pits top dancers across the globe against each other in a contest for fame and a $1 million grand prize.
Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez, 43, is a former MLB veteran who won a World Series with the 2009 Yankees and belts in over 22 years of game time.
“We’re in our 40s. We’re both in New York. We’re both come from Latino backgrounds. We both have two kids. I think we’ve both been through a lot and can really appreciate each other, both the good and the challenges,” A-Rod said during an interview with Today.
On March 2017, A-Rod announced their relationship during an interview with The View and made their first red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala in the same year.
Lopez and Rodriguez celebrated their first anniversary on Feb. 3, 2018, in Minneapolis at a Super Bowl LII pre-party, where the singer performed her single “Us,” inspired by her soon-to-be husband.
“We’ve been together for one year today,” Lopez — who wore a jersey emblazoned with Rodriguez’s Yankees jersey number, 13 — told the crowd, which included her boyfriend and his kids. “I don’t want to get all mushy or anything, but Baby, this song’s for you. I love you.”
J-Lo, in the past, has been married three times previously, to Ojani Noa, described in reports as a waiter; to tour dancer Cris Judd; and to Latin pop singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has 11-year-old twins Emme and Max.
Meanwhile, A-Rod also has two daughters Natasha And Ella with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
J-Lo and A-Rods daughters have been seen spending time with each other’s families during family vacations and holidays. “Our kids get along [really] well,” the athlete told Extra in June 2017.
“He’s a loving father,” Lopez also told Extra in July. “He’s a generous human being with his family, with his friends, with me. He’s caring and sweet and capable and responsible and just all the beautiful things you would want a man to be.”
Jennifer Lopez has reportedly listed a $27 million New York City apartment, so she and Rodriguez could have a place “for the whole family.”
Most recently, Lopez and A-Rod were seen at the Grammys together, at which Lopez was presenting an award.
The power couple’s wedding is expected to be an extravagant, star-studded event everyone wishes to attend!
