On other news, with Joey Logano securing the win last Sunday in Las Vegas with the Pennzoil No.22, people are clamoring about what’s to come this season.

It’s always a good day when you can win your sponsor’s race, and that’s precisely what Logano and the Pennzoil No.22 car in his narrow victory of the Pennzoil 400.

In a pitched battle between teammates, Logano held off Brad Keselowski on the final lap of the Pennzoil 400 to score the second straight victory for Team Penske and the second straight for the new Ford Mustang, which was introduced into the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this year.

Pennzoil sponsored both the race and Logano’s car.

“I said we’re going to do donuts on that giant infield logo after the race, and we were able to do it,” said Logano, who won for the first time this season, the first time at Las Vegas and the 22nd time in his career.

Logano and Penske teammate Brad Keselowski traded rights to first and swapped paint multiple times in the final 30 laps with Logano barely staving off his teammate’s final attempt at a pass in the last lap.

Logano’s win was his first of the young season after winning last years Monster Energy NASCAR Cup.

“It was a lot of fun,” Logano said. “It’s a nice feeling to get back in the playoffs. Team Penske 1-2 — it shows the speed we got. Brad was able to get it last week, and obviously with him second and us first, it was a great day for Team Penske.”
