Sophie Turner who plays the character of Sansa Stark in the Game of Thrones denounced the meme of her character that promotes racism. The meme stated that “When it comes to Race and Culture, there should be purity.”
The viral meme contain statements which are usually heard during the ancient times, where royalties should only marry into their own ranks or within the same tribe. It stated that white people should only marry white people.
The 22-year-old actress is known to be active on social media, especially on Twitter. Last January 10, she had a thread explaining that mental illness should not be treated as a joke. She believes that depression is one of the biggest causes of death in Europe and America. And this is because mental illness is surrounded by a lot of stigma. Furthermore, she encouraged people to speak up about their own struggles.
