A diet full of fried food is associated with higher risk of death,
For the duration of the study, 31,588 women died. Over all, 9,320 deaths were caused by heart problems, 8,358 caused by cancer-related illnesses and 13,880 due to other causes.
The main goal of the study was to discover whether eating fried food really causes cardiovascular illnesses or cancer which may lead to earlier death. The study analyzed the women’s total and particular intake of fried food. Some of which include fried chicken, fried fish, fried meat sandwiches, French fries, tortilla chips and tacos.
As a result, the research confirmed that after considering other possible factors such as lifestyle, diet quality, income and education level, consistently eating fried food leads to more risk of death from any cause, especially heart-related illnesses. People who eat one or more servings of fried food daily had 8 percent higher risk of death compared to those who do not eat fried food.
Fried food are rich in fat, calories and usually salty. They are usually prepared using unhealthy, hydrogenated oils filled with trans fats. These oils give food a gratifying taste and makes it crunchy.
Trans fats increase bad cholesterol, lower good cholesterol and increases chances of heart diseases. These oils are more harmful when it’s reused, which fast-food chains and restaurants usually do. And results to higher chances of having high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
People who are mostly busy eat in fast foods. And fast food chains, often offer a wide range of fried food in their menu.
Food is one the main things that we humans need in order to survive. Some people eat just the enough amount of food, while others eat more than is necessary and binge eat. We are all free to enjoy eating whatever food we love but then again, we need to always keep in mind, that to achieve more goals in life, One must make good decisions on what food he/she should eat.
