There have been a lot of changes and updates on Instagram throughout the year as a tool of expansion of its features. Starting from the base, Instagram has worked harder in advancing their security settings to protect people, companies and big brands. The company has added more information available for users to evaluate the authenticity of accounts with large audiences better.
New shopping features were also done for users who wish to shop within the app. And six new superzoom effects for Instagram Stories which include: the paparazzi, explosive fire and adrenaline-fueled music, heart-filled fog with music playing, a big red X with a classic door-slamming “rejection” sound effect and falling leaves. How interesting! Not only the features on its app, but the company has also done a little change for everyone.
Maximizing its ability to connect people from around the world, the company have been up to a more exciting change this year. Instagram with all its updates has a very significant announcement to its millions of users.
The co-founders of the Facebook-owned app, Kevin Systrom, and Mike Krieger after announcing that they are leaving, introduced the new head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri.
“We are thrilled to hand over the reins to a product leader with a strong design background and a focus on craft and simplicity – as well as a deep understanding of the importance of community,” Systrom and Krieger said in a statement.
They also wrote on Instagram’s blog saying “To us, the most important thing is keeping our community – all of you – front and center in all that Instagram does. We believe that Adam will hold true to these values and that Instagram will continue to thrive.”
The newly appointed boss of Instagram is a former Facebook News Feed VP and Instagram’s head of product since earlier this year. He will be taking over the lead role effective immediately, according to an Instagram spokeswoman at CNBC. His transition from Instagram’s current VP of product to “Head of Instagram” has already been expected by many in the company. Not to mention the excellence he puts on his work.
Adam Mosseri said in a statement “I’m humbled and excited about the opportunity to lead the Instagram team now.”
