What Time is the Emmy Awards Show Tonight? 8pm ET/7pm CST/5 pm PT on NBC

Emmy Awards 2014 Date

Watch the 2014 Emmy Awards show tonight, August 25 on NBC broadcasted from the Nokia Theater LA Live from Los Angeles at 8pm ET/7pm CST/5 pm PT.

The Emmy’s are airing almost a month earlier to accommodate with the schedule of the NFL.

The Emmy’s Award Show was also moved to Monday night from its usual Sunday night spot in mid-September to make room for the NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” which includes Sunday’s preseason game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals.

“I think the Emmys are a terrific celebration of television whether at the end of August or in September. When we entered into the wheel agreement, we knew that NBC had football, so this is something that we contemplate every four years,” says Bruce Rosenblum, chairman and CEO of the Television Academy. “The show’s been done on a Monday night in past history and we have optimism that the show not only creatively will be terrific, but also from a performance standpoint will be terrific as well.”

“We’re really hoping to have really good jokes all the time. With something like this, the level of success is because the jokes are really good. We hope that by the time the monologue’s over, which is obviously the most important thing the host does, that people are going to be good and ready for the next few hours of awards,” Seth Meyers, host of the Emmy’s, said about the Award Show.

For the fifth year in a row, the Television Academy will provide free live streaming of Backstage Live! 2014 beginning at 6:30pm EST. All the behind-the-scenes action including backstage, celebrity red carpet and the arrivals can be seen during that time.

Also, E! will air it’s usual “Live from the Red Carpet” special from 6 to 8 p.m. ET hosted by Giuliana Rancic and Ross Mathews. They will interview all the celebrities while Kelly Osbourne and Kristin Dos Santos will be talking fashion.

The Emmy’s also has a special tribute planned for Robin Williams. Billy Crystal, a longtime friend and former co-star of Williams, is set to lead the dedication to Williams, E! confirmed with Emmys executive producer, Don Mische.

“We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable,” Mischer said. “Billy seemed like the perfect choice.”
