Disney World Raises Admission Prices to Theme Parks

Disney World Price Increase

Disney increased the cost of a single-day ticket to Magic Kingdom to $99, plus tax on Sunday, February 23, 2014 which now makes them the most expensive park in the area.

Tickets for children ages 3 to 9 will now be $93 per day. Disney also increased one-day admission prices to other Orlando parks — Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Those parks now cost $94 for ages 10 and up and $88 for ages 3 to 9.

The Premium Annual Pass (PAP) to WDW, which includes admission to the water parks and DisneyQuest, increased from $729 to $754. Annual Passes for non-Florida Residents increases from $609 to $6394. For Florida Residents, the price of an AP increased from $464 to $485. The Florida Resident PAP increased, from $584 to $605, while the Florida Resident Seasonal Pass increased $10, from $309 to $319.

A one-day ticket to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, Walt Disney World’s water parks, remains the same as the June 2013 increase. Admission still costs $53 for adults and $45 for children.

Prices for parking, stroller rentals and wheelchair/ECV rentals also remain the same.

This is the second price hike in less than a year. In June 2013, Disney increased the admission price to Magic Kingdom by $6. The other Disney parks rose by $1.

“Our pricing reflects the high quality and breadth of experiences we offer and our ongoing commitment to investing in our parks,” said Kim Prunty, Walt Disney World spokeswoman, via e-mail to CNN. “We offer a variety of ticket options that provide a great value, and find that most guests select multi-day tickets that offer additional savings.”

The price increase comes shortly before Magic Kingdom will complete its New Fantasyland expansion by opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The opening is planned for early summer 2014. New Fantasyland was officially dedicated in December 2012, with most of the land’s attractions open by that time.
