Jason Aldean’s tour bus struck and killed a pedestrian in Knox County, Indiana, at approximately 1:28 a.m. the Knox County Sheriff’s Department confirmed.

The pedestrian, 49-year old Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, Indiana., “walked out into the middle of the roadway” and was struck by Jasons Aldean’s tour bus on the northbound lane of US 41 North,” the police report said.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene with head and chest injuries.

It’s being reported that the bus driver was not at fault. In fact, cops tell TMZ the driver did everything he could in an effort to minimize impact.

Sheriff Michael Morris says the victim was often seen walking around town, but it’s unclear why he walked into traffic last night.

Country singer, Jason Aldean was on the tour bus when the accident happened and later tweeted his condolences:

“With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”

An investigation into the accident and death are underway.

Charges are not expected to be filed against the tour bus driver.

Aldean had just wrapped up his 2013 U.S. tour with a performance in New Orleans Friday night, he was scheduled to perform in Dallas Saturday night, but had to cancel his show due to inclement weather. “Sorry we had to cancel Dallas tonite. Not my decision!!!! Was lookin forward to the last nite of the tour. Promise we will be back ASAP,” he wrote.
