A British company has invented the fart filtering underwear called Shreddies. The company designed a range of flatulence-filtering boxers, briefs and shorties suitable for men and women.
Shreddies, manufactured in Leicestershire, England, promises to neutralize the smell of farts through a highly absorptive carbon cloth woven into the back panel. The fabric, called Zorflex, is used in chemical warfare suits and is said to be able to filter out odors 200 times stronger than the average human flatulence.
But wait, this isn’t just for joke. Shreddies is an award-winning healthcare product has helped persons with flatulence-related illnesses since its launch in 2008. Shreddies can be worn by anyone but they offer a perfect solution for sufferers of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), gastritis, Crohn’s disease, Dyspepsia and Colitis as well as food intolerance’s and many other bowel and digestive disorders. Anybody that suffers from excessive flatulence will know of the social issues that it can cause and Shreddies not only improves the physical symptoms but also helps reduce the anxiety associated with this condition.
According to the company’s website, the flatulence neutralizing underwear which was “manufactured with love” helps to “give that assurance and often-needed confidence.” As proof of this assurance to their customers, the Shreddies motto is “Fart with confidence.”
“It’s a product for everybody, because everyone farts,” Shreddies spokeswoman Ianthe Betts-Clarke explained.
Due to a recent innovation this ‘Zorflex’ activated carbon cloth is now a lot thinner and far more flexible, making it ideal for use in the new generation of chemical warfare suits and garments such as our flatulence filtering underwear. The fabric remains effective for the life of the garment (2-3 years) providing the care instructions are followed correctly.
The cloth is reactivated when you wash it.
Even though the fart filtering underwear were designed to help people with excessive flatulence diseases, “Americans are making up the majority of our sales at the moment,” Shreddies spokeswoman Ianthe Betts-Clarke told The Huffington Post.
Since the odor-neutralizing Shreddies hit the Internet a few days ago, the company has experienced a 400 percent increase in orders over all, Betts-Clarke estimated.
A Shreddies Ltd. spokesperson also quoted by the NY Daily News, said, “Although Shreddies has got cheeky with the new campaign, to many people they still remain very much a healthcare product and have helped so many cope with conditions…But the bottom line is that Shreddies are for everyone, after all, it’s something we all do.”
Men’s boxer briefs cost between $39 and $45, while women’s panties are about $31 to $34.
