The much anticipated iPhone 5s made its debut to the public earlier this week, along with an underestimated iPhone 5C. Apple certainly knows how to push the envelope of competition in the smartphone war and has done for quite some time now; however, it’s the companies iconic “I” product series that put’s them in a class of elite. Along with the unveiling of the newest iPhone’s Apple announced their new iOS7 program which is set to be released on September, 18.
Matt Johnston the CMO of the mobile tech online company uTest explained that Apple’s announcement for the iOS7 actually came as a bit of a surprised to some companies, as they try to prepare programs for the upgraded iOS.
“A lot of companies weren’t expecting this it caught everyone off guard, that means that the world of development and testing just got that much harder now you have a 32-bit iOS compilation and a 64-bit iOS version,” Johnston says
There are however iOS developers that knew about the new iOS program earlier this summer and geared up and set their companies by working with the beta release, and gradually adjusting their apps to an iOS 7-optimized version.
With the release of the new iOS on the very near horizon, let’s take a look at what features it will possess. For starters the upgrade will be available for the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5, along with the iPad 2, 3, 4 and the iPod 5th generation according to TechRadar.
Apple mentioned in their unveiling presentation that they wanted to have a better synergy between Software and hardware, the color of the apps are more vivid and stand out more and the font appears to be in a fancy letterhead design.
Perhaps the most popular features for the upgrade is the new and improve Control Center, Air Drop and iTunes Radio. People are always needed things in their phones right away and quickly, well with the new Control Center you can get to your import things with just a swipe of the finger. Users can get quick access to Wi-Fi connection, Flashlight, Bluetooth, and camera just from the lock screen alone.
It sounds like Air Drop is mighty similar to the android version of tapping phones together to share pictures, videos and documents. For air drop it allows users too quickly and easily share photos, videos and contacts along with many other things with a simple share button according to APPLE. Once you tap the share button you can select the person you want to share with and the air drop service does the rest.
The iTunes Radio is one of the more exciting features as it adds a certain personal touch to music lovers. The more a user listens to music on the iTunes radio the more personal it gets, the program recognizes what music you like. Instead of showing just the music stored on your iDevice, the Music app on iOS 7 also adds in your library stored on iCloud, allowing you to view all your tracks in one place.
“We are very excited about the new iOS7, and we believe the iTunes Radio is the best music player we have ever done,” Apple CEO Timothy Cook said.
iTunes Radio will be available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, and Apple TV for free.
