With Tax day 2013 among us, the stress of beating the deadline to file your tax return can be a real headache and sometimes, a pain in the wallet. Luckily some companies have decided to be a hero in the situation and look like the ‘good guy’ by giving out freebies.
“People hate Tax Day,” says Erika Napoletano, brand strategist with RHW Media. “If a brand can come across as the good guy, the brand wins. It’s all about audiences feeling as if they’re understood.”
So whether you have already filed your taxes or not, you can still take advantage of April 15 freebies.

Concessions stands are giving away free orders of small popcorn from April 12 to 15 if you want to procrastinate doing your taxes, or even celebrate getting them filed before the deadline.
Arby’s Tax Relief
This is Arby’s third year of offering a freebie on Tax day. This year, they are offering the choice of a free order of potato cakes or curly fries. Go to Arby’s Facebook page to get a coupon and enter its sweepstakes to win one of 10 $500 tax relief payouts.
Free Medium Slurpee when you text “Slurp7” to “711711”
Last year’s Tax Day was on April 17 and it seems Panda Express is keeping to that same tax day. On April 17 of this year, print or present this coupon via mobile phone for a free Samurai Surf & Turf entree.
“Big Rib-bate” special: Two rib meals for $10.40 on Monday, April 15. No coupon needed. This offer includes a 1/4 rack of St. Louis Style BBQ Ribs with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet corn and freshly baked cornbread.
Offering its Big Bagel Bundle for just $10.40 April 12 through April 15. The Big Bagel Bundle includes a baker’s dozen of Bruegger’s bagels and two tubs of Bruegger’s made-in-Vermont cream cheese. A coupon is available at Bruegger’s Facebook page.
With the Tax Day Bites promotion on April 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at participating locations, Cinnabon is offering two free Cinnabon Bites per customer, while supplies last. No coupon needed. Last year, more than 60,000 bites were given out nationwide through this tax day freebie event.
