It looks like a shakeup is brewing in the evening comedy shows that America watches every night. Jay Leno is once again butting heads with NBC executives and may be confirming he’s out the door in his own way with jokes he drops on The Tonight Show. Here are a few of Jay Leno’s jokes at the expense of NBC executives that may suggest he’s on his way out:
“Doctors in Canada were shocked after pulling a three-inch knife blade from the back of a 32-year old man. The knife had been in there for three years! Imagine that, the guy had a knife in his back for three years. He must’ve worked at NBC too. I was stunned by that.”
“Well you know the whole legend of St. Patrick, right? St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland, and then they came here to the United States and became NBC executives. It’s a fascinating, fascinating story.”
The jokes like the ones above have continued as tensions with Jay Leno and NBC executives continue. The fighting and disagreements seem to be fueling a Seth Meyers rumor that he’ll be on his way into the late night comedy fray. The food chains starts with Jimmy Fallon filling the shoes of Jay Leno the The Tonight Show. If that happens, someone that can produce Fallon comedy in the same format is expected to be needed to keep the ball rolling on the, “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” show. You just may be tuning in for the “Late Night With Seth Meyers” whom already has experience with the same kind of comedic approach as Jimmy Fallon.
Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers worked together on Saturday Night Live during the years of 2001 to 2004. The two both gained celebrity and have been popular comedy acts around America’s airwaves ever since SNL. According to the Christian Post the producer of “Late Night”, Lorne Michaels is also the producer of SNL which are both filmed at 30 Rockefeller Center.
If you hop on over to the rumor mill at Perez Hilton you will find out that Jay Leno may almost be confirming that he’s out and Jimmy Fallon is in. Perez posted a blog titled, “Jay Leno ‘Hopes’ Jimmy Fallon Will Replace Him!” The big statement all comes from a paparazzi that asked Jay Leno if Mr. Fallon was taking over when Jay’s contract expires in 2014. Jay Leno simply replied, “I hope so.” It may be a bumpy ride but it seems like the slots of Late Night Comedians are starting to line up nicely.
