It is almost about that time again when millions of people tune into, what has now become an unofficial holiday simply known as Super Bowl Sunday. These two hard nose, grind out, battle tested teams are not the only thing stealing the show in New Orleans (The Big Easy) this week.
The famous and highly entertaining Mardi Gras has also been going on in New Orleans this week as well, which just adds onto the already Buzz surrounding the city. Although, both Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl will certainly make several headlines, it may be what appears on Television screens during the Super Bowl that will gain tremendous attention.
This year Super Bowl commercials are hitting all-time records in cost per commercial as a 30-second spot is going for a cool $4 million, which is a half million dollars more than the previous record set just last year at $3.5 million.
CBS spokesman Dana McClintock even explained that the $4 million is just the average that some companies are spending well past $4 million for a commercial spot, but mentioned that those companies spending more usually have more than one commercial and receive a package deal.
“We don’t confirm exact pricing, since all spots are sold with different considerations and often in different packages, but it’s safe to say we are well past the record prices set last Super Bowl,” McClintock said in a statement to CNN.
Currently, there are over 40 different companies that have already claimed at least one Commercial spot during the Big game, but it is expected that their will surely be more late entries before Sunday. There will certainly be a handful of commercials that will be the topic of discussion the next day, “Got Milk” will have a commercial featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Best Buy will feature the comedian and Star of NBC’s 30 Rock star Amy Poehler. Go Daddy.com will look to turn heads again with Danica Patrick, this time tag teaming with model Bar Refaeli for a commercial.
This is just a very slim list of stars that will appear in Super Bowl commercials, there will undoubtedly be tons of commercials that will have you laughing, if you would like to take a sneak peak at a few commercials check out ADAGE.
