Charlie Sheen’s daughter, Cassandra Estevez (Sheen’s real name is Carlos Estevez) is pregnant with her first child; which means, Charlie Sheen will be a grandpa! Say what?!
Charlie Sheen 47, confirmed the exciting news during an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman on Monday, January 14. He told Letterman he was excited about being a grandfather and the addition to the Sheen family, but he also admitted of being nervous.
“Me as a grandfather, Dave…I don’t know. It’s like the world’s going to crack in half,” he joked. “It’s fabulous. It’s just not a title I’m ready to adopt.”
When David Letterman asked if he thought he would be a good grandpa, Sheen replied, “Well, yeah, because you can leave the kid!”
Believe it or not, Sheen actually took fatherhood seriously. He walked Cassandra down the aisle with a big smile on his face when she got married to Casey Huffman in 2010.
Even when Charlie Sheen had his meltdown in 2011, Cassandra was there supporting him. She told E! News, “I love my dad is really all I can say right now. This is not my time to come forward. Someday I will, but not now.”
Sheen also hinted on the Letterman show that drugs were not the cause of his breakdown and it was something deeper that he would not identify.
Shortly after the Letterman interview, Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards posted the Charlie Sheen grandpa news on Twitter. “I guess some of you have heard…Charlie Sheen is going to be a Grampa…yes, GRAMPA!” she tweeted. “His beautiful daughter Cassandra is gonna be a mama.”
Cassandra is Sheen’s daughter with his high school sweetheart Paula Speert. He also has two younger daughters, Sam, 8, and Lola, 7, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and 3-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max, with third wife Brooke Mueller.
Looks like Charlie Sheen might be coming back down to the real world. Instead of making news headlines for bad things, he has been doing good things. He apologized for a gay slur, gave $100,000 to Lindsay Lohan so she could pay off debts, and paid for the cancer treatment of a little girl and the funeral expenses of a paparazzo killed in a car accident.
Sheen returns on FX’s Anger Management Thursday, January 17, 2013. He also appears in a movie with Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray called A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, which is already available on video on demand and will get a limited theatre release come February 8, 2013.
