The Master Cleanse is getting all sorts of hype with the new year and people wanting to lose that extra weight they put on during the holidays.
Celebrities such as Beyoncé (who lost 20-pounds in 2 weeks), Jared Leto, and Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (who tweeted about it) have all played a part in this so-called lemonade diet.
This Master Cleanse diet is for both weight loss and detoxing your body. It involves sustaining on nothing more than drinking six to 12 glasses a day that consist of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup, and water for 10 consecutive days. In addition, laxative teas and a salt water are used to flush in the mornings.
“The Lemonade Diet should be done for a minimum of ten days, but can be done for a longer period of time. A good indicator of when you should end the cleanse is when the fuzzy coating on the tongue that appears in the early days of the cleanse is clear and pink in the morning. This is a good indicator that your body has eliminated the currently available toxins,” says Glickman on the Master Cleanse website.
While on the Master cleanse, expect cravings, fatigue, and irritability, while on this detox diet. Although Peter Glickman says that only means the cleanse is working, and you should feel better the next day.
He’s seen an average weight loss of 20 pounds in six weeks from devotees of this new diet, and he says it’s fitting for those who have 10 pounds or over 100 to lose.
Glickman’s Master Cleanse Coach book has sold 7,000 copies in 52 countries. Both were based on Glickman’s coaching more than 2,000 people. Along the side, is an iPhone and Android app for download.
“The Master Cleanse Coach was written as a how-to manual for people to coach themselves and their friends on the Master Cleanse, the original detox diet,” explained Glickman.
“In addition to that booklet, I also wrote and published an updated book on The Master Cleanse called Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days, when I realized there were many unanswered questions about the Master Cleanse,” says Peter Glickman.
“Although information on the Master Cleanse is now all over the Internet, much of it is wrong leading to poor results,” warned Glickman. “The real Master Cleanse is the one people get incredible results from, is the one developed by Stanley Burroughs.”
Nutritionist Nupur Krishnan says a good detox plan should contain 60 percent liquids and 40 percent solids – foods that contain enough phyto chemicals, such as indoles, flavonoids and organo-sulphuric compound, nutrients and enzymes. For example, pineapple contains bromalain, a digestive enzyme; while papaya contains papain, a colon cleanser. Detox diets may involve periods of fasting, consuming only fluids and eliminating certain foods.
Master Cleanse Weight Loss Diet works by removing internal body waste that has built up in the body. The intestinal mucus and encrusted fecal matter in the colon can weigh anywhere from 5 – 15 lbs. Getting rid of these toxins will help all organs function better and help people’s fat cells release both toxins and fat. A lot of the weight people lose will be in the form of waste products and toxins that may well have been affecting their health for years.
