Just down the road thousands of people were preparing for arguably Las Vegas’s biggest convention, the Consumer Electronics Show or #2013CES (official International CES announced hashtag) #CES2013 (many are still using this hashtag as well) as it’s hashtagged on Twitter. According to an article done on Forbes by Eric Savitz CES may be straying away from the old branded name, “Consumer Electronics Show.” Eric states, “the International CES trade show getting underway in Las Vegas in a few days of asking reporters not to call the event the Consumer Electronics Show. Too limiting, apparently.”
This was the segue to announce a star studded list of celebrities that will be making an appearance at CES. Celebs like Tim Tebow, Dr. Oz, Deepak Chopra, Sanjay Gupta, Danny DeVito, Matthew Lillard, Kelly LeBrock, Maroon 5, will.i.am, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Russell Simmons, Ludacris and more. The Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs’ will be giving the CES keynote in place of Microsoft’s usual keynote spot. During this keynote is when Maroon 5 is expected to perform to rock off this electronics extravaganza the right way.
Before the big CES 2013 keynote however a Press only event will be thrown on January 6th, 2013 starting at 2pm PST at Mandalay Bay. The exclusive pre-CES Press Events will give industry analysts and journalists the first crack at some of the biggest announcements, demos and previews of products before it all hits the big show floor in places like the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The first Press Event will be “The State of the Consumer Tech Industry and 2013 CES Trends to Watch” from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at Mandalay Bay, Level 2, Breakers H answering two questions: 1. What does the year ahead look like? 2. What lasting trends will emerge from the next several days?
The next Pre-CES Press Event kicks off at 3:00pm – 4:00pm at Mandalay Bay, Level 2, Breakers H and is called, “State of the Global CE Industry.” This sessions dives into the international marketplace of consumer technology and focuses on fast-growing economies and large emerging middle classes. It’s expected consumer electronics will see their largest revenue expansion in this area so a whole hour will be dedicated to discussing it.
The next Pre-CES Press Event takes up right where the last one left off but in a different room at Mandalay Bay. This event is called, “CES Unveiled LAS VEGAS: The Official Press Event of the International CES.” The event kicks off at 4:00pm – 7:00pm Level 2 in the South Seas Ballroom C. This will be peak into some of the biggest announcements and reveals that will be happening in CES 2013. This is the first unveiling before the official show starts and has many products all in one room with one-on-one demos for Press. Sneak peaks and featured displays for Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honorees will be shown.
Of course the event will have some cocktails and schmoozing between some of the industries biggest names and companies covering the CES event. While people talk away into the night staff and exhibitors will be preparing for the real big press event. The next CES Press Day Event starts on Monday, January 7th, 2013 and goes the span of entire day starting at 8:00am and going to 5:45pm. The capstone CES keynote will be given at 6:30pm at The Venetian Hotel in the Palazzo Ballroom featuring Dr. Paul Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Qualcomm.
The keynote by Dr. Paul Jacobs from Qualcomm will be topped off with a live performance by Maroon 5 (@Maroon5) to get everyone in the hyped up mode that they need to be in to take on the massive amounts of exhibitors and displays. The multiple hotels, Las Vegas Convention Center and ballrooms will host an unimaginable amount of products and tech products to share with the world. The official days for CES and all attendees is from January 8th, 2013 – January 11th, 2013.
