College student Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, daughter of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, has gotten herself in trouble. The 19-year-old has been reportedly arrested earlier this morning at the upstate New York College she attends after allegedly overdosing on heroin.
TMZ news heard about the incident from the Town of Kirkland Police Department that officers went to Hamilton College and appeared at Bongiovi’s dorm room after hearing a report that she had overdosed. When emergency medical personnel arrived, they found her unconscious but alive.
The police department has reported finding a “small quantity” of heroin, along with “marijuana and drug paraphernalia” in her room. Police arrested Bongiovi on three misdemeanor counts: criminally using drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. She is ordered to appear in court at a later date along with 21-year-old Ian S. Grant, who also was arrested.
Bongiovi was one of two college students that were arrested after police had found small amounts of heroin at the scene. She was released from custody and is currently at a hospital recovering from her ordeal.
With Bongiovi eventually having to deal with the implications of this incident with law enforcement, she will most likely first have to deal with Hamilton College. The institution has already given details about the criminal charges Stephanie, as well as the other student arrested, will be facing.
They also noted that the college is helping police with their ongoing investigation and sent a statement to Fox 411: “On Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, members of the Kirkland Police Department arrested two Hamilton College students. One was charged with possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree, and the second was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. All are misdemeanors. In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation.”
Bon Jovi’s rep has not offered any comment about the incident. Bongiovi happens to be the only daughter of the singer as well as being his oldest child with wife Dorothea Hurley. The two got married on April 29, 1989, as the singer took a secret trip to Las Vegas. They had the ceremony at the Graceland Wedding Chapel. Together, they have four children: Romeo Jon (March 29 of 2004), Jacob Hurley (May 7 of 2002), Jessie James Louis (February 19 of 1995) and Stephanie Rose (May 31 of 1993).
