Michael Clarke Duncan Died

This year alone we have seen well-known celebrities and famous people pass away and for some it seems far too early for them to leave this world. Unfortunately, the world has lost another great person on Monday, September 3, 2012 as Michael Clarke Duncan passed away in a Los Angeles area hospital; he was 54 years old.

Michael Duncan’s body had been suffering pain over the last few months and had been in weekly treatments ever since he had a heart attack on July 13, according to his fiancee. Although Duncan made his career in Hollywood, he was also the former bodyguard for famous people like Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and The Notorious B.I.G. according to Yahoo.

For those of you that are scratching your head as to who Duncan is, he may best be known for his role in the popular movie “The Green Mile” in which he played a death row inmate. Some believe this role started his great career in films as he was actually nominated for best supporting actor in a film at the Academy Awards, while also being nominated for a Golden Globe as well. Fellow star of Green mile Tom Hanks voiced his sadness for the passing of a dear friend in a statement to the media.

“I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike, he was the treasure we all discovered on the set of ‘The Green Mile,’ he was certainly magic and a big love of man his passing leaves the whole entertainment stunned.” Hanks said.

Duncan starred in several other films during his years of acting as he had roles in films such as; Armageddon, The whole nine yards, Daredevil, Talladega Nights, and Sin City just to name a few. His talents were not only seen on the big screen though as he made several appearances on a variety of different Television shows.

The 6″5 broad stature of a man could easily be seen where ever he made an appearance, which could be seen in popular T.V. shows including but not limited to The Apprentice, Two and a Half Men, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Bones, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and The Jamie Foxx Show.

Duncan is just one of several actors that had not only been a great actor, but a role model and known to be a compassionate man who cared about everyone he interacted with, his death is very sad and he will surely be missed by all the lives he touched.
