Brandon Jacobs Was Sent $3.36 from 6-Year old Giants Fan

Brandon Jacobs

Brandon Jacobs was sent $3.36 and a letter from a 6-year old boy explaining it was so the Giants could keep him as a player.

Brandon Jacobs was released this last season by the Giants because he would have cost them $5 million for next year, so they opted not to re-sign him. Instead, Jacobs signed with the 49ers this off-season.

When the 6-year old asked his mom, Julie Armento why his favorite Giants running back was no longer with the team, she told him it was because the Giants couldn’t afford to keep him. In an effort to help Brandon Jacobs stay with the New York Giants, Joe decided to send the player all his piggy bank money and a letter.

Joe’s mother, Julie Armento, attached a note explaining why her little boy wanted to send the money. It also included a partially written note by the 6-year old who is starting to learn how to write.

The letter written to Brandon Jacobs:

Dear Mr. Jacobs:

My 6-year old son, Joseph, is a huge NY Giants fan. Last year he had the opportunity to go to a game, and he just fell in love with the team. When he asked me why you were going to SF I explained that the Giants did not have enough money to keep you. So, in an effort to convince you to return to NY he wrote you the enclosed letter, and included money for you from his piggy bank.

Joseph is just learning to read/write so I will help you by translating his letter:

‘Dear Brandon Jacobs,

So you could go to the Giants, here is my money.

Love, Joe’

I hope this letter finds you well. Congratulations on the Superbowl win! Our family will miss you next year, but we wish you all the very best in San Francisco.

Brandon Jacobs was so taken back by this letter that he posted a picture of it on twitter and said, “I almost cried, I am still trying to hold it in. I may have to pay him a surprise visit.” Jacobs responded to someone about the little boy’s letter, “This kid is great, can’t wait to meet him.”

He then went on to say, “The kid thought the giants didn’t have enough money to bring me back, so he sent me 3.36 cent to come back it was the best ever.”

Being all sentimental, Brandon Jacobs has decided he wants to keep the $3.36 the 6-year old gave him and return a different set of dollar bill and coins to the boy.

He is still trying to decide on how to repay the little boy for his gratitude and in efforts of trying to think of something he tweeted, “Here’s what I am thinking for the kid, I have a 5 year old, I will go and pick Joe up at his home in jersey and take him and my son 2 chucky cheese, what y’all think about that.”
