Evenflo Convertible High Chair Recall

Evenflo has recalled a line of their high chairs today, June 6, 2012.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Evenflo high chair recall involves the high chairs that converts to a toddler-size table and chair.

There have been 18 reports of the trays coming off along with 8 reports of children falling from the high chair after the tray detaches. No serious injuries have been reported from the malfunctioned high chair.

Parents are being told to stop using the Evenflo high chair immediately and to contact Evenflo for a replacement tray.

Around 35,000 were sold at Toys “R” Us and Walmart from December 2011 up until the Evenflo high chair recall nationwide in June 2012.  The Evenflo convertible high chair was being sold for around $40.  They were also being sold through Wayfair.com and Walmart.com.

The Evenflo convertible high chairs were manufactured in China, and the recalled model numbers include 29111259, 29111271 and 29111234. Consumers can find the model number on the label of the high chair’s leg.

Any one who has one of the Evenflo recalled high chairs can visit www.safety.evenflo.com to order a free replacement tray.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is continuing to investigate this recall and is asking consumers to share their stories they may have encountered with this high chair at SaferProducts.gov.

It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
