Adele has been winning awards and accolades like crazy lately. Just recently Adele brought home six Grammy awards from the US Grammy Awards Ceremony. This year for the 2012 Brit Awards Adele won album of the year and best British female solo artist.
As usual, after getting the awards Adele wanted to give an acceptance speech. The acceptance speech had Adele saying, “It’s been an amazing year.” Adele also said how she was, “So, So proud to British and flying our flag.” As Adele started to thank people the Brit Awards 2012 host, James Corden popped on over to Adele and said, “I’m so, so sorry and I can’t believe I’m going to cut you off…” with Adele quipping back quickly, “You’re going to cut me off.” Then Adele said, “Can I just say then, goodbye and I’ll see you next time around then.”
After those last awards Adele flipped her head back a little and the Adele middle finger was proudly displayed to everyone in the audience and the camera. Adele flipped off everyone and turned around and walked off the stage.
Adele was sure to let people know that the middle finger she gave at the Brit Awards was not to everyone else but the people running the show. Adele said, “I’m sorry if I offended anyone but it was the suits that offended me. Thank you all very much and thanks to my fans. I don’t want them to think I was swearing at them.”
Later on the ITV broadcasting unit that was producing the show released an apology to Adele and tried to make good with interrupting her. Everyone turned a blind eye to Adele flipping off the audience because most agreed with the situation. ITV said, “We regret this happened and we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running.”
In the next video Adele is interviewed by the press and she explains the situation she was facing when she flipped everyone off. In her own words she eloquently explains everything and shows off her Brit Awards.
