Minnie Driver Talks About Her Weight

Minnie Driver MoviesMinnie Driver says Hollywood is portrayed as super glamorous, but during her Hollywood fame, she was miserable. She says she wasn’t prepared for all the spotlight and lost a lot of weight. Minnie Driver, a 42-year old actress is best known for her role in the 1997 movie “Good Will Hunting” starring Robin William, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck.

Minnie Driver recently told U.K.’s Stylist magazine, “I definitely went a bit bonkers in my early 20s, when I got famous quite quickly. Bonkers in a way where I didn’t eat enough, I drank too much coffee, smoked too many cigarettes, cried a lot and was very emotional.”

The actress dropped down to 98 pounds during the height of her career. Even earning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nomination in 1997 for “Good Will Hunting.” Minnie Driver gives credit to her family for pulling her through the tough times, but blames Hollywood for putting her in that situation. “Hollywood is portrayed in this super glamorous way, but when I see pictures of actresses going off the rails, it doesn’t surprise me at all. You have to have solid family and friends.”

Minnie Driver’s sister Kate, model-and-producer, showed up at her door one day and told her, “I don’t recognize you. You weigh seven stone and you’re behaving like an idiot.” Minnie Driver said in an interview with Stylist magazine that she went back to England to sort herself out.

She plans to document her experience in Hollywood to show people what it is really like. “I’m working on a memoir about my childhood and getting famous, It’s an interesting journey to tell if you haven’t dissolved into drugs and alcohol. I want to tell it from the view of someone who was normal, but whose life became abnormal,” she says.

Minnie Driver has a three year old son, Henry and has never revealed who the baby daddy is.

Some of Minnie Driver movies include her first major role in the film Circle of Friends in 1995.  She had a role in the movie GoldenEye in 1995, Sleepers in 1996 and Grosse Pointe Blank in 1997. She had a recurring role on “Will & Grace” in 2003-2004 and she also appeared in films such as An Ideal Husband in 1999, Return to Me in 2000, Owning Mahowny in 2003, Ella Enchanted in 2004, The Phantom of the Opera in 2004, Delirious in 2006 and Take in 2007. She has starred in the Tv-series “The Riches” in 2007.
