Super Bowl 46 had amazing commercials as usual released to the 110 million people watching the Super Bowl. Marvel’s The Avengers was one of the commercials that got quite a bit of buzz on Twitter and Facebook this year. If you’re wondering when will The Avengers be in theaters, you’re in luck. The commercial was to announce The Avengers coming to theaters worldwide on May 4th, 2012.
As soon as the commercial aired during Super Bowl XLVI Marvel Comics posted an extended footage version of The Avengers Official Trailer. Marvel listed a description on YouTube that said, “Catch an extended cut of the “Marvel’s The Avengers” TV spot from Super Bowl XLVI, and catch your favorite heroes in theaters May 4!”
A press release was also issued which covered the different types of theaters and qualities you’ll be able to see the new Avengers movie. IMAX 3D and Real 3D will be available. The press release is below:

Marvel’s The Avengers, based on the well-known Marvel comic book series, is written and directed by Joss Whedon and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.
Distributed by The Walt Disney Studios, Marvel’s The Avengers: An IMAX 3D Experience marks the third Marvel Studios film presented in IMAX, following the releases of Iron Man 2: The IMAX Experience in 2010 and Thor: An IMAX 3D Experience in 2011.
Marvel’s The Avengers is the second tentpole film from Walt Disney Pictures to be confirmed as part of IMAX’s 2012 film slate. John Carter, which will be released on March 9, will play for 3 weeks in IMAX film theatres and 2 weeks in IMAX’s digital network.
