Leslie Carter died in Buffalo, New York on Tuesday and left behind her husband, Mike Ashton and 10-month-old daughter, Alyssa Jane. She was a singer just like her brothers, Nick Carter and Aaron.
The Carter family said in a statement, “Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”
Leslie Carter’s brother Aaron took over her Facebook account today by posting a message that read: ‘Hey this is aaron we are going to keep her facebook up..! i will add ppl so we keep leslie alive! we love les.’
In a post on her wall, Aaron Carter wrote, “RIP MY DEAREST SISTER….! I LOVE U AND YOU THE ONE THAT ALWAYS ROCKS. LOVE AARON UR LIL BRO U CALL LL AC.”
Leslie Carter was in the music business just like her brothers. She signed with Dreamworks Records and had a single “Like Wow!” in 2001 that appeared in the soundtrack of the movie, “Shrek.” In April 2001, the single made it into the Top 100 when she was only 13-years old. She performed through 2009, first as a solo act, then was part of the band The Other Half. She also appeared with her brothers on the reality show “House of Carters.”
She married her husband, Mike Ashton in 2008 and moved to Toronto. She then gave birth to her daughter on April 1, 2011.
Nick Carter is scheduled to play at Allentown’s Crocodile Rock Café on February 8, 2012 and Aaron Carter is scheduled to play there March 7, 2012, but a spokeswoman for the club said officials had no immediate word on the shows being cancelled or not.
