Flying People in NYC
If you’ve never heard of the ad agency Thinkmodo you will now add that name to your list of ad campaign stunts that have went viral. Thinkmodo decided a citywide stunt to help promote a new movie by Twentieth Century Fox coming out this weekend would be perfect idea.

Michael Krivicka from Thinkmodo said in a press release put out about the event that, “three main characters of the movie have the ability to fly, we came up with the idea of staging a few ‘flying people’ sightings around NYC. We achieved that illusion by having 3 custom-made aircraft (which were shaped like human beings) fly above designated areas in NYC and NJ.”

The human flying stunt was performed with the RC aircraft that you can see in the video below. You can see how parts of the RC aircraft actually move the legs and emulate a human moving in the air. The viral marketing campaign was actually done in high foot traffic locations in New York City and in New Jersey.

The movie will heat theaters on February 3rd, 2012 and will certainly pair up with this marketing campaign as characters in the movie learn they have super hero powers. The super hero powers make them able to fly. So as disappointing as those flying humans in NYC are once you find out they’re fake, you can at least enjoy the movie, “Chronicle” in theaters this weekend.

The video made by Thinkmodo is shared below of the flying people in New York:
