“Our dinner breaks would be 2 1/2 hours long while they drove in new cars and boats and gazebos and stuff,” Pat Sajak said. “So at NBC in Burbank we had a place called Los Arcos across the street, and they served great margaritas. So Vanna and I would go across and have two or three and six and then come and do and the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet.”
Pat Sajak added, “They’re really great tapes to get a hold of.”
Dan Le Batard asked while laughing, “Sounds like you did more than one. Sounds like you did a few. You did a handful? Loaded up on margaritas.”
“I think the average number was cuatro,” Pat Sajak answered laughing.
Curious, Dan Le Batard went on to ask Pat Sajak, “Was the show better or worse?”
Pat Sajak reponded, “”I had a great time. I have no idea if the shows were any good, but no one said anything, so I guess I did OK.” He added, “Now, if I were to inhale the cork from a bottle of wine, I would probably keel over. I’m getting a little older for this. Although I’m hammered at this moment.”
Pat Sajak did mention that him and Vanna White don’t drink before their game show “Wheel of Fortune” these days.
Dan Le Batard’s father on ESPN2’s “Dan Le Batard Is Highly Questionable” asked Pat Sajak, “Tell me what Vanna white smells like?”
Pat Sajak reponds laughing saying that he is going to tell them a story that he shouldn’t. “She smells great. She smells like Lucille Ball.”
While mentioning his daughter, “I’m going to go from being that guy who works with Vanna White to the guy who is Maggie Sajak’s father.”
He mentions that as long as they keep the checks coming, he’s fine and happy. Pat Sajak makes an annual salary of $8 million.
