Alec Baldwin Kicked Off American Airlines Plane for Playing ‘Words with Friends’ and Deactivated Twitter Account

Alec Baldwin American AirlinesAlec Baldwin got kicked off an American Airlines flight on Tuesday for refusing to turn off his phone at the Los Angeles International Airport. Alec Baldwin was playing the game “Words with Friends” while he was sitting at the gate waiting for the plane to take off.

Other passengers on the plane said that Alec Baldwin was doing more than just playing the game. They say that he refused to turn off his phone then snuck into the bathroom and became irate.

The 30 Rock actor, started a twitter rampage after being kicked off the LAX plane. Alec Baldwin tweeting, “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving” “#theresalwaysunited.” “Now on the 3 o’clock American Flight. The flight attendants already look smarter.”

He later tweeted, “United shud hav app onboard where u can play WWF w other passengers. American shud have app where u read the new testament w flt attendants.”

In a statement released from American Airlines said, “He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding.”

Alec Baldwin’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik issued a statement saying, “Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing ‘Words with Friends’ while parked at the gate. He loves WWF so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it, but he has already boarded another AA flight”

As of Wednesday morning, @AlecBaldwin on Twitter is now listed as “deactivated.”

Reported from Washington Post, “Zynga, the company that created Words With Friends, sent a tweet to show solidarity with the actor: “Hey @AmericanAir, don’t ground @AlecBaldwin for playing. A.B.S.U.R.D. is worth *at least* 11 points in @WordsWFriends.” The company later tweeted a photo (seen here) of a WWF board that displayed the words, “Let Alec Play.”
