Ashton Kutcher Twitter Handed OverA simple Twitter mistake made by Ashton Kutcher on November 9th, 2011 in the evening has made Mr. Kutcher give up his Twitter account. Ashton who is the new star of “Two and a Half Men” posted on his Twitter account at @APLUSK, “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.” It was this simple tweet that started a firestorm of replies at Ashton condeming his view of supporting situations that allow child molestation.

The misunderstanding was well cleared up by Ashton as he stated on his own blog that he didn’t have all the information and had just seen a headline and replied quickly on Twitter. On Ashton’s Posterous Blog he states, “Last night after returning home from work, I walked by the television and simply saw a headline that Joe Paterno had been fired. Having no more information than that, I assumed that he had been fired due to poor performance as an aging coach. As a football fan and someone who had watched Joe’s career move from that of legend/innovator to a head coach that fulfilled his duty in the booth, I assumed that the university had let him go due to football related issues. With that assumption (how dare I assume) I posted a tweet defending his career. I then when about my evening, had some dinner, did a little work, and about an hour later turned on ESPN where I got the full story. I quickly went back on my twitter account and found a hailstorm of responses calling me an “idiot” and several other expletives that I’ve become accustom to hearing for almost anything I post. I quickly retracted and deleted my previous post; however, that didn’t seem enough to satisfy people’s outrage at my misinformed post. I am truly sorry.”

It seems that the situation has gotten so bad for Ashton Kutcher that he has decided to give up the management of his 8 million follower Twitter account to Katalyst. If you heard Ashton quits Twitter or that Ashton has deleted his Twitter, that is completely bogus. But if you heard he’s letting a management company run his account then what you heard is true, Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter account has been handed over to Katalyst Media. Ashton states on his blog, “While I will continue to express myself through @Aplusk, I’m going to turn the management of the feed over to my team at Katalyst as a secondary editorial measure, to ensure the quality of its content.”

Ashton Kutcher I'm With StupidIt seems this wasn’t the first major retractment of one of Ashton’s tweets. People magazine mentions a situation where this September 11th, 2011 Ashton tweeted out, this is “the greatest day of the year” because of the start of football season. Obviously people felt that September 11th was a rough day in America and let him know about it. It seems that Mr. @aplusk or Ashton Kutcher just can’t win these days. Ashton has continued to try and make a statement by posting a picture of himself next to a sign that says, “I’m with stupid.”

Let us know in the comments, are you upset that Ashton won’t be tweeting live from @aplusk on his own without an editorial team?
