Warrant Front Man Jani Lane Dead at 47

Jani Lane, lead singer for 80’s hair band Warrant was found dead Thursday in a hotel room in Woodland Hills, CA. Authorities were called to the Comfort Inn last night around 5:30PM who found the singer unresponsive. The cause of death has not yet been released.

Lane’s struggle with alcohol addiction plagued the artist for years as he was in and out of several rehab facilities and appeared on the VH1 show Celebrity Fit Club. Warrant had replaced the troubled singer 6 months after the group reunited in 2008 as Robert Mason took over as the main vocalist.

About a year ago Lane was arrested for driving under the influence and was ordered to spend 3 months in jail. He also lost his driver’s license for three years and had to attend a 30-month alcohol education program.

The band Warrant is most known for the songs Cherry Pie and their monster ballad, Heaven. Lane is survived by his wife and four children.
