Gatorade Honors High School Athletes

Today at Los Angeles, the most well known names in professional games and high school were convened. Gatorade privileged the top ten athletes, female and male with the 8th yearly Gatorade sportsperson of High school award.  Brandon Knight was awarded the Male Gatorade sportsperson of 2010. In females Chiney Ogwumike earned the nationwide Girls Basketball contestant of the Year 2010.

Brandon Knight and Chiney Ogwumike also received their honors by Stuart Scott of ESPN’s at luncheon emceed. The ceremony was attended by well know athletes Lisa Leslie, Kevin Love, Wes Welker, and Brandi Chastain. The Gatorade sportsperson of the time plan was recognized in 1985. This program yearly announces one champion in Columbia. The states that authorize high school soccer, female volleyball, cross county, basketball both men and women, baseball, girl’s soccer, awards the nationwide performer of the year award in every sport category.  In adding up to athletic brilliance, the honor recognizes educational achievement and consummates personality on the playing field and off the playing field as well.  The Gatorade sportsperson of the time honor was established in 2003 to identify the overall top female and male athlete among different high schools.

The Gatorade sportsperson nominees for the year will amble through the red carpet of ESPY and will be attributed as the honored guests throughout the awards. The ceremony will be held tonight and will be aired on ESPN channel at 9:00 p.m. The associate president of marketing sports Gatorade Jennifer Storms said  “The Gatorade sportsperson of the Year rewards sets distant that they admire those competitors who are not just the most excellent player on the playing field, but are confirmed performers educationally, and enthusiastically return to their societies,”.
