Oprah Biography To Be Made Into Film

The highly anticipated, publicized and read biography written by Kitty Kelley is set to be the subject of a new feature film, which will soon be starting production.  Larry A. Thompson, a highly acclaimed filmmaker, is slated to begin production on the recent released rogue biography written by investigative writer Kelley and published by Crown Publishers, a division within Random House.

The book is based on Oprah Winfrey’s life story which paints the life of Winfrey as a rags to riches story, documenting her path from rural Mississippi to being the most watched revered and followed media mogul that audiences have ever known.  Thompson is in the process of auditioning for the lead role to play Oprah herself, which with such a high profile and larger than life persona will be no small task.  Finding just the right actress might well define the film.

Thompson was chosen specifically for his ability to capture the dramatic and emotional nature of famous people according to Kelley.  Being that Oprah is nothing but complex, his style and expertise will lend volumes to the making of this epic feature film.

Kelley is no stranger to writing controversial biographies about the rich and famous with books such based on Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and the England’s Royal Family being just some of her many accomplishments.  Kelley and Thompson teaming up on this very highly anticipated film is a match made in heaven.  Their expertise and experience will bring the life and accomplishments of thiis media giant alive for audiences and fans of all walks of life.
