The gaming system world has made some tremendous strides from the early days of Sega and the original Nintendo to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Microsoft business itself has been very popular with their products especially with their gaming system Xbox 360 and its motion sensor feature Xbox kinect.
In order to keep up with the ever changing new technologies popping up yearly, putting out a new engaging game system every decade should keep most gamers happy. Microsoft will once again design another gaming system that is certain, but the name of the new Xbox is anything but ready, and have stirred up some rumors and speculations around the world.
The top three names for the new Xbox system are pretty interesting as Xbox 720 was the forerunner months ago, but Xbox 8, and Xbox infinity are actually the most likely name for the gaming system now, with Xbox 8 looking like the early winner according to InGame. How the name Xbox 8 came into consideration goes back to Microsoft winning two court cases in China in which the domain name Xbox 8 was up for grabs. Since the court date was settled in China the National Arbitration Forum which is a forum that specifically handles international disputes ruled in favor of Microsoft to won the name Xbox 8. Interesting enough Xbox 8 was not the only name that China wanted or claimed was theirs.
XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, XboxCompanion.com, and Xbox8.org were also names brought up in the court battle. According to Hexus there are several reasons that Microsoft may go with the Xbox 8 logo and name. A big reason may be the new Windows 8 that is set to launch later this year in which Microsoft wants to correspond the gaming system and Windows 8 together. Staying in that same category Windows phone 8 could be another reason for the Xbox 8 name. To go along with this the number 8 on the system is suppose to look as an infinity symbol hence the name Xbox Infinity if that will be the new name. Also it has been reported by Microsoft that the new Xbox system is suppose to be 8 times more powerful than the Xbox 360, while also having the new system having 8-core CPU. The last reason why the new system may be named Xbox 8 is because the number 8 is a very lucky number in china.
