Dog with Human Face Named Tonik, is Up For Adoption in Indiana

Tonik Dog

A dog named Tonik is getting all sorts of press this week because some say, he has a remarkably human-like face.

The 11-pound, 1-year old dog, Tonik is a poodle-shih tzu mix rescued from a kill shelter in Kentucky. He’s now up for adoption in Mishawaka, Indiana. His Petfinder description says, “there is a very sweet boy in there who is trying to figure things out and enjoy people. It seems he has not had too much socialization. He is great with other dogs. He is not dangerous, but should not be placed with young children because he will get too overwhelmed. He will need a home with lots of patience & good energy.”

Petfinder adds, “Tonik has been vet. checked, neutered, micro chipped, heart worm tested negative is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies & has been treated with advantage multi per our protocol. He has been pro. groomed since his photos were taken. His adoption donation is $250 and needs to be cash, cashier’s check or money order. We do not ship or transport.”

The Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group is searching for a household that is loving and responsible for Tonik. Whoever that might be, is going to be one lucky person with such a popular wanted, cute, celebrity-like dog.

The personable photos were taken by Renny Mills, a professional pet photographer.  He did a great job in capturing the heart behind this little cute dog.  By the looks of Tonik’s face, he’s had a rough one year of life and is looking for someone to deeply care for him.  Can you imagine how much more cute he will look when he’s a happy tail-wagging pup.

Tonik’s picture went viral after it was posted on BuzzFeed with the caption, “This dog has a man face. Alright, don’t freak out, but this poodle/shuh tzu mix named Tonik totally has the face of a man.” It was then that Tonik became an internet sensation.

If only all cute animals up-for-adoption could get viral attention like this lucky dog. I’m sure Tonik won’t be stuck in that shelter for long. The sad thing is though, according to the ASPCA, about 5 million to 7 million cats, dogs, and other pets enter animal shelters nationwide each year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million of them are euthanized.

This Dog Has a Human Face

Tonik, the dog that has a human face and looks eternally stressed is up for adoption. A dog, named Tonik on Petfinder.com has one of a kind face. It actually resembles a human’s. He is currently up for adoption in Indiana after he was rescued from a kill shelter in Kentucky.

Going solely by his appearance, it looks as though the poor dog has gone through a lot in his short life. Tonik’s eyes are riddled with concern and his mouth comically curves upwards to one side making it seem like he’s showing a grumpy scowl.

Many internet viewers have commented on the dog’s bizarre looks. His adoption fee is $250.
