Ryan Seacrest proposed to Julianne Hough on American Idol on Wednesday night, almost, but no. He did have an important question to ask her and it wasn’t her hand in marriage.
Julianne Hough was in the audience with director Adam Shankman to promote Rock of Ages. After director Adam Shankman talked about the upcoming film, Ryan Seacrest asked Julianne Hough if he could tell her something that’s been on his mind for a while.
Julianne Hough responds by referring to the movie clip from her film that just aired, “There was a lot of kissing going on in that preview, huh?”
Ryan Seacrest then rewords the question, “No, it’s not that. It’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask you and I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable.” He then puts his hand into his suit jacket pocket with every one in the audience gasping and Julianne Hough saying, “Oh god,” while turning away for a minute, and then he reached inside his jacket pocket and asks, “Will you…” as Ryan Seacrest pulls out a piece of folded up paper, “give this note I wrote to Tom Cruise? I’m such a big fan. I loved him in Cocktail.”
Tom Cruise is one of Julianne Hough’s co-stars in “Rock of Ages.”
Wow! What a roller coaster of a ride. Julianne Hough plays back with him and says, “Wait, but didn’t we write that note together last night?!”

While Ryan Seacrest’s fake proposal to Julianne Hough may have been slightly mean, he did retweet someone on twitter saying that they couldn’t breathe when he was asking her the question.
Me too! RT @SwaggerLikeMel: Omg @RyanSeacrest I swear I did not breathe while you were asking Julianne Hough that ”question”

Maybe it was a pay back for last time Julianne Hough was on American Idol and said “yummy” to her Idol crush, Phillip Phillips. Read here: Julianne Hough Idol Crush on Phillip Phillips Called Out by Boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest
