Justin Bieber is wanted for questioning by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after he allegedly attacked paparazzi when they got too close trying to take a picture and wouldn’t move. Justin Bieber was trying to protect his girlfriend, Selena Gomez after leaving a shopping center in Calabasas, California on Sunday.
The photographer called 911 after the incident, but when the police arrived Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez had already left the scene.
The photographer, Bruja complaining of pain in his upper torso and was taken by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to the hospital, where he was treated and then released, officials said.
Photographer José Sarros, who goes by nickname ‘Bruja,’ told Celebuzz that he could not go into details about what happened between him and Justin Bieber, “I don’t have a lawyer yet. The report that I spoke to a lawyer is a lie. But, I cannot talk more about what happened.”
Sergeant Michael Holland, lead detective at the Malibu/Lost Hills station told RadarOnline in an exclusive interview, “The case hasn’t been referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office because the investigation is only just beginning. The only statement that has been given is from the alleged victim and other eyewitnesses, including Mr. Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez, need to be interviewed. At some point very soon, I anticipate that detectives will formally reach out to Justin Bieber for a request for an interview, although he isn’t under any obligation to do so and neither is his girlfriend.”
A spokesperson from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the case hasn’t been turned over to them yet.
People who were at the scene have claimed that the photographer was provoking Justin Bieber to allegedly attack. One source says, “Justin’s car was being blocked in by Jose and he had to get out of his vehicle to ask him to move so he could leave. It was absolutely instigated by the photographer and could have been avoided entirely if he hadn’t been physically blocking Justin Bieber from leaving the parking lot. Justin wasn’t looking for trouble, it’s just not who he is.”
A spokesperson for Justin Bieber had no comment on the incident. If Justin Bieber is charged with the altercation and convicted, he could face 6 months in jail.
