Is Full House Returning to TV? Cast Members on Board

Full House Reunion

Full House could be returning to TV. Warner Bros. TV is considering a reboot of Full House, which ran from 1987 to 1995, after pulling in some major ratings through repeats on Nick at Nite.

Nick at Nite reports that its primetime repeats of the show average 1.5 million viewers. That figure includes fans that are too young, or weren’t even born during the show’s original run.

Actor John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse, is one of the people championing for the show to return.

TV Guide reports that John Stamos has ownership stake in the show, so of course he would want a reboot. Original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin are also said to be involved.

Also, it’s being said that former Full House stars Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are on board. Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are “involved in some way.”

While some of the cast is not on board with the return. Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) recently told E! News that she didn’t think a Full House reboot or movie reunion would be a good idea. “I don’t think that there are any plans for a movie,” Loughlin told Marc Malkin. “If it were a really good script and a great project, but sometimes I think that it’s better off to leave those TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows.”

Also, the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley haven’t commented about the rumors of the Full House return.

This isn’t the first ABC’s family-friendly “TGIF” lineup to think about returning. Earlier this year, a Boy Meets World spin-off called Girl Meets World premiered, featuring many of the original Boy Meets World cast members. The show has been doing relatively well in the ratings.
