Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper Recall Due to Sun Shaped Toy Hazard

Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper Recall

Baby Einstein recalled their Musical Motion Activity Jumper because the sun shaped toy attachment can snap back with force and can cause injury to the child in the seat.

Injuries can happen with the “sun” toy attachment, which Baby Einstein describes on its site as a “sun teether,” that sits atop a spring-loaded stalk connected to the jumper. The stalk, when tugged and released, can rebound with enough force.

The Safety Commission said that they have received reports of bruising, facial injuries, and even a cracked skull in one case.

More than 400,000 Baby Einstein Activity Jumpers have been recalled due to a injury hazard.

The model recalled is specifically the Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers, model number: 90564. The model number can be found on a tag under the seat of the jumper.

The recall includes yellow sun toys made before November 2011. The date code is located in the lower right corner of the sewn-in label at the back of the blue seat pad. Only the following date codes are included in the recall:

OD0, OE0, OF0, OG0, OH0, OI0, OJ0, OK0, OL0, OA1, OB1, OC1, OD1, OE1, OF1, OG1, OI1, OJ1, OK1

The specific model being recalled by the company was sold between May 2010 and May 2013, at a recommended retail price of $90. It was sold at Toys”R”Us and Target and via Amazon.com as well as other retail outlets.
