Apple issued an iOS 7.0.6 update on Friday morning to resolve a minor issue with SSL connection verification.

This new update comes less than a month after Apple began pushing iOS 7.0.5 to the iPhone 5s and 5c.

Many iPhone and iPad users have been waiting the iOS 7.1 update, which is reported to include a number of design improvements and a fix to the bug that’s been causing devices to restart at random times during use.

The company also released version 6.1.5 for the fourth-generation iPod touch to correct a FaceTime connectivity issue. ArsTechnica believes it’s possible that Apple is trying to provide critical security updates to older devices dropped by newer iOS updates, something it also does for older OS X versions for a while after they’re superseded by newer software.

A major update, iOS 7.1, is scheduled to be released sometime next month and will reportedly improve mobile device management for organizations and schools with a number of iOS devices. The point-one release is also believed to include a totally new “Volume Services” Web client.
