Online Dating Site Zoosk Produces Big Numbers

Zoosk.com had pretty good 2010 to say the least. The online dating giant reported sales of $90 million, up 250 percent in one year. The website sales are mainly based on paid subscriptions by its users. They are continuing to expand into the global market. The company was started in 2007 by co-founders Shayen Zadeh and Alex Mehr, and has been growing ever since.

In 2010 Zoosk provided iPhone and Android applications as well as Zoosk messenger, which had an estimated 4 million downloads in 2010. The online dating site is currently available in 25 languages in more than 60 countries. There are still relatively few “big players” in the online dating arena. Rival Match.com recently purchased OkCupid for a reported $50 million. These two will most likely continue battling for supremacy in the online dating market.

Zoosk.com currently boasts 60 million registered users and nearly 3 million fans on its Facebook Fan Page. With online dating becoming more and more mainstream, it seems that dating sites will continue to be strong earners moving forward.
